January Stuff

Well, here we are in January and there's not been too much excitement at the Harker house, so not a lot to blog lately. I was able to film two weddings this month. This first one is of my cousin. This second one was one of the most beautiful brides I have ever had! Her name is Brooke and I did her sister's wedding a couple of years ago. The snow falling that day made for wonderful pictures. It was pretty cold, and as you can see, her dress was short sleeve. She never complained once and we kept her out doing pictures for at least an hour and a half. She stayed absolutely beautiful the entire time. Her nose didn't even get red! (And my nose was running like crazy because of the cold!) So this video is going to turn out awesome!
And yes, the bathroom did get done! My wonderful sister Tracy came over to help me paint and decorate. She has an amazing knack for decorating homes (you should see hers! It's like a model home!) So luckily I get to use her talents for free and she turned my bathroom into my most favorite room in my house. We still have many more projects to finish around the house, but it feels good to at least have one done!

And the last thing I can think to write about is I have been made the Young Women's President in our ward. I've been the first councilor for two years and so it isn't all brand new to me. We have a good group of about 15 girls and I have wonderful ladies to serve with. The only bummer is I probably won't be able to go to camp since my new baby will only be about 2 weeks old then. Oh, I find out what I am having on February 9th (my birthday) So I'll keep you posted on that!

My little helper

I love the age that Mason is at right now. He loves being with me and doing anything that I am doing, even if it is cleaning the bathroom. I know that soon he will realize that this is not really a game, but rather a yucky, icky, chore but until then I'll take all the help I can get. He really is my sunshine! As you can also see, I have been painting my bathroom. It has turned out pretty good. Now we need to put back up all the baseboards, get new bath mats and towels, and the bathroom will finally be done! (After 9 long months!!!)

Happy New Year!

We enjoyed a really fun New Years Eve. We had two other families from our ward join us at our house for yummy food and then a night of games. Abe brought his Wii for us to play for our first time. I can see why people like the Wii so much. It was a blast. I sucked at Guitar Hero though! Everyone stayed pretty late, but by midnight, only Mike, myself, and Mitchel were left. Mitchel really wanted to watch the ball drop and when it was over he agreed that it was pretty lame. Then those two stayed up for a while longer playing more Wii games. Thanks Abe for the fun! I am excited about 2009. I hope the economy gets better and that things go well with our new president and all that. But I think for the Harker family, things are only going to be getting better. I am looking forward to meeting our new addition this year and watching my kids grow up even more. I know the Lord will continue to bless us if we just keep doing our part. Happy New Year everyone!
